Ghost Mind Investigation Team Rules
1. Be professional in your attitude and actions while on an investigation. In other words, act mature.
Some have asked me for a definition of "professional". As taken back at the question as I was, here it
is: Taking responsibility to know what you're doing, for your own actions and words, for yourself in
total. This does not mean you can't have fun but there is a limit to what is fun and what is disruptive
and hindering of any Investigation or other team activity.

2. Be loyal to our team if you are an active team member. Visiting other teams on investigations is
fine but, in all, the etiquette in most serious paranormal groups is only belong to one team and put
them first and foremost. Loyalty is the key to success. If the team finds a member who is supporting
other teams, going with them more often, or acting like a member by contributing anything that Ghost
Mind is in much need of first, then they will reject you as a member. Feelings of betrayal are things I've
already had to deal with within Ghost Mind's Investigation Team.

3. No alcohol, illegal drugs, mind altering drugs even if prescription before or during an investigation. If
you're on prescription medication of this sort, let the lead investigator know in time to replace you and
put you elsewhere or tell you to come or not, depending on the situation.

4. Each active team member must supply their own basic equipment and their own personal needs.
This includes such things as an EMF meter, digital thermometer, voice recorder, camera, film,
batteries, video equipment, etc. If you are new to the team and have not had time to get these things
yet, you will not be left out of the investigation. Ghost Mind will supply you whatever you need until you
do have time to get your own, if it is available. With any donations, hopefully it will be available when
you need it. If you run out of something or something unexpected comes up, ask the lead investigator
if you can borrow the thing or things you need. We're glad to assist in situations that can't be helped.

5. Bring your own food, clothing as appropriate and any other extras you may require. Food and
smoke breaks will be given.

6. Don't smoke, eat, or drink inside the investigation area! A designated area will be set aside for
this. If you do you could cause tainted evidence.

7. Respect other's property. If you break or damage it, you replace it!

8. Each team member will have some type of identification as a member of the group and what role
you play. For example, the logo t-shirts are identification. Separate apparel will be available than what
is linked on this site for the active team members. There is a huge difference in the items for the
general public and the active team member's identification. There is also a difference in apparel for
an investigator in training than one who has gained full membership status! The investigators in
training will wear the logo apparel, or other that we make available that is sold to the general public.
When you gain full Investigator status, then you will be linked to the site to order your full identification
apparel.
Contact me for further identification methods. I prefer each of you to have a logo t-shirt or
other kind of apparel. Not only does it support the team and identify you but it also shows your team
pride!

9. During your training, this is a TRIAL membership!  If you mess up and break the rules resulting in
getting your membership revoked. This can happen at any time during the trail membership. You are
considered active during the trial membership. The trial serves to show the other full team members
that you are reliable. You will be a fully accepted Investigator when your training is completed, however
long this takes. Each member has different time limits and I respect this and will work around it as
much as possible.

10. When we travel, you are responsible for transportation, hotel fees, food, and everything else you
will need! Don't expect Ghost Mind or any of it's members to supply you with anything unless in an
emergency if possible!

11. Always leave religious and personal beliefs at home. We are a scientific paranormal investigation
team! Unless specifically asked, don't pull this out of your pocket for any reason!
Use it to protect
yourself and not force it on anyone else, as the beliefs of our team have always varied and sometimes
caused conflicts and arguments that disrupt the team's work.

12. Always do exactly what the lead investigator says! There is always a good reason they are telling
you this or asking  you to do or not to do whatever it is. Just do it. If you want to question it, do so on a
break where you both are present or else wait until the investigation is over.

13. Don't bring any guests along on the investigation! This means husbands, children (especially
children!), or others that are not an active team member. They will only hinder the investigation
process and may cause serious problems for those we try to help.

14. ACT LIKE A TEAM! A team is a unit. Don't venture out on your own. Teamwork is the key,
especially to safety!

15. Don't go anywhere alone, ever. Stay with your partner!

16. Keep up with your equipment. It is solely your responsibility!

17. Always be ON TIME for any meeting or investigation. The investigation starts not at the arrival at
the place but the meeting time and place set by the lead investigator!

18. The team is on active investigation status until every task is complete, from beginning equipment
set-up to revealing the evidence we gathered to the person or owner we helped.

19. Don't lie to the team for any reason. You have to be trusted to say a member. You have to prove
yourself trustworthy or else no one will  want to investigate with you. We've already had this happen in
the past. Let's not make it a second repeating event with another face on it!

20. The evidence you gather will be used by Ghost Mind on the website and any other means of
publication. The credit will go to you but the evidence gathered on any Ghost Mind Investigation is at
the disposal of Ghost Mind at all times. It is not to be shared with other teams you may know or visit
with, either
, unless we are conducting studies or other activities with another team, which is possible
in the future.

21. Do not wear anything scented. Scents are a largely reported part of paranormal phenomena and
we need to know it's not you we're smelling!

22. Always keep well stocked on flashlights (LED lights preferred) and batteries for them. Take them
with  you on every investigation! Use them!

23. Don't leave your job on the investigation without letting the lead investigator know and never go
alone! Have someone to take over for you if you need to leave for a bit but never leave the area totally!

24. Communicate everything to the lead investigator. Each team will be equipped with a sufficient
radio to communicate to the whole team with. Use it!

25. No flirting or dating or sexual connotations toward any other Ghost Mind team member. The only
"couples" allowed in Ghost Mind are married couples. Don't even make a joke like you are doing any
of this. It will not be taken lightly and you will be immediately kicked out of the team!

26.  No petty bickering. No bickering at all. Handle the problem between the one you have a problem
with and yourself. If it can't be solved, the lead investigator may decide to send you both home. Three
times (or less) can get you kicked out of Ghost Mind!

27. No practical jokes!

28. Never go into a haunted area or reported haunted area sick! You'll just get sicker and have to
leave, thus, leaving a heavier burden on the team as a whole!

29. Never take anything from a haunted location!

30. All members will possess a copy of Ghost Mind's training manual. If the lead investigator isn't
present with you and you need advice, you can refer to this. Less room for mistakes. You don't have to
bring it along with you on investigations but you do have to memorize it.

31. Take personal protective precautions both physically and against any harmful spirit. Your own
protection is in your hands!

32. No party other than yourself will be liable for your actions.

33. Respect all property that is not your own!

34. Respect each and every team member!

35. Don't make promises you can't keep or even think you may not be able to keep. If unsure, don't
promise it!

36. When Ghost Mind is called upon, we respond! I expect a response from each and every team
member. If you cannot participate, a simple email is all it takes or a phone call.

37. Respond to group emails that are from ghostmind@bellsouth.net if asked to. This is also
non-participation on your part and may be looked upon as such. It could be important enough or
frequent enough to get you kicked out of the team. Those emails are always important!
